Our Story
Rhino's - How it Began
Mike Prine was a young man struck down by cancer in 1991. He was 22 years old and River Falls High School alumni. Mike’s nickname to all of us was "Rhino". Mike was loved by many and a group of his friends played softball in his memory for a number of years. Once that group began to get too old for the softball diamonds, they relinquished bats for golf clubs. Since that time, an annual Rhino’s Golf Tournament has taken place on the Friday of River Falls Days to always remember our friend and brother, Rhino. This tournament generates a large amount of revenue for the Rhino's Foundation to support its efforts. We have added many additional events over the years to help raise money for the cause on a year round basis. There are also very generous outside groups, sponsors and fundraising efforts that direct their funds to Rhino's to assist us in our fiscal needs each year.
